PHASE 2 TEACHING PRACTICE REFLECTION: WEEK 2 ( 2/12/2024- 6/12/2024)

As I reflect on the second week of my teaching practice, I am filled with a sense of joy and fulfillment. One of the highlights of the week was the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Kalotsavam, a cultural festival that celebrates the talents of our students. It was heartwarming to see the excitement and pride on the faces of the winners as they received their awards. This experience reminded me of the importance of recognizing and rewarding the efforts and achievements of our students, as it can have a profound impact on their motivation and self-esteem.

In addition to this, I also worked on my B.Ed project, administering a pre-test to the children to identify their areas of weakness, which revealed that many struggled with question tags. I planned an action plan to support the children in overcoming their difficulties with question tags and am excited to implement it. Furthermore, helping to serve the mid-day meal to the children each day allowed me to connect with them on a personal level and understand their needs beyond academics. This experience reminded me of the importance of providing holistically support to our students, including academic guidance, emotional, and physical nourishment. Overall, the second week of my teaching practice has been a valuable learning experience that has taught me the importance of recognizing student achievements, identifying and addressing areas of weakness, and providing holistic support to our students.
